Problems with Ableton rewired into Cubase SX

Post by Darin Epsilon » Sun Dec 17, 2006 11:47 pm

Hey guys, I just recently signed up and have been using Ableton for a few months now. I have a question about a problem I've been having with Live rewired into Cubase. Sorry if this is a common technical issue, but I was not able to find the answer surfing the net or browsing this forum. Basically, when I try and render my track in Cubase, the Ableton audio sputters in and out. I notice that the CPU usage jumps up to red every so often, then the audio signal dies away. This is strange because I have no problems at all rewiring Reason into Cubase.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

which platform - Mac OSX or Win XP?

Rewire in Live seems to be causing a few problems in Mac OSX, might be a 'macintel' factor, don't know.

I rewire Live 6 no probs into Cubase SX running win XP, just as Reason gives me no probs either.

I'm using Win XP. Maybe it's because I don't have enough hard drive space? I have 15% on my C drive and still a lot left on my second drive.

Get that 2nd drive employed more - transfer anything non-essential from C to your external drive, you should have at least 30% on C drive for better swapping out of memory and operation of win xp.

Then clean out registry and other assorted crap, temp internet files, etc.

Then defrag your disk.

I think it's just an ongoing bug still. Best bet is to render in real-time in SX IMO.
