Document was created.....error

Post by Count Dz » Wed Apr 28, 2004 7:30 am

So I've been working on a set for a few days tryin to get everything right and then there is a fire down the street. They kill the electricity to my house, luckily I have battery back up. I saved it!! Whew~ Electricity was restored and I rebooted. Everything is cool. Would u like to recover file.......? Ok I figure. Now my file is corrupt and I can't get it to open without , 'this document was created by and more recent version'. So I upgrade to 3.04 and still does it.

Ableton 3.03 (at crash) now 3.04
Quicksilver Duall 800 Mac 768 RAM

Please help, show is in 2 days 8O

Hello,

If your computers crashes while reading or writing a file, the chances are very high that a document can become corrupt, no matter which program you use. You could send me the songdocument and i´ll check if there´s something to recover.

Hello Kleine,

The file was not being read or in the process of writing. It was saved in time then my electricity was cut off. Not during the process. I feel that this is a serious bug that needs to be fixed. I have on other occasions chosen not to recover and everything is fine with the file but when I recover it just screws the damn thing up. Please fix this bug, it has been around for many versions. And anyone else that ever has this happen to them , choose not to recover "Cancel" and your life will be easier and your set will be saved or at least readable. One of my favorite programs, but this is a serious bug that needs to be fixed. Thanks for any more info, Klein.
