Hi,
I'm trying to use an SPD-20 to trigger loops in live. Easy enough. But all our songs are different tempos and it'd be great if i could set the SPD to jump to the different tempos when i change the patch. Is there some sort of program change i can send to live to do this? I guess it's more of an SPD-20 question, but if anyone knows, I'd love to hear about it.

you say your loops are in Live. why do you need the 20 to be in sync?
anyway, you could set a pad to trigger a different scene for each song. Title the scene "120bpm", for example, as its name , and that would change the tempo for each song.
you could also send a midi in to the 20, which will send your tempo change info from Live whenever Live's tempo changes....
good luck

Thanks Cosmo,
You're right, the SPD doesn't need to be synced, I just want to use it to take me to different locations in the live track that are set to different tempos. I thought I could set it up to send this information when i change patch (I have a patch per song). I have a keyboard that does this. When ever i change patch, it tells the patch where the volume slider is so i don't get crazy volume changes when i adjust the fader.
I like the idea of fireing a loop to set the tempo. How can i use a loop to set the tempo? It needs to be the master tempo cause i use delay times and other synced stuff.

Can anyone help? I have a roland spd20, I'm trying to trigger samples, and also play live drums, but I can't figure out how to do this. The midi light in the top right corner of ableton live flashes but there is no sound. I have the spd20 set to midi channel 10, and ableton set to all channels. Please help
