that's not a bug, but by design..
Hi Abe's

Many thanks for getting this final update out before Christmas ... a nice guesture to your customers.

I must agree with Acidman, having only the first 127 parameters available for automation is a limitation we'd like to see removed - it's pointless. Agreed that the GUI "becomes unmanageable" however there's plenty of users out there who would be prepared to deal with the inconveniences of lots of scrolling if they can access all the parameters (as you'd expect - Cubase SX - no problems) since there are many popular and very powerful VST instruments sporting in excess of 128 parameters ....

Regardless, the 6.03 update is very welcome.

Merry Christmas to the Abe's and other forum users !

cheers !

possible solution;
- user definable order of parameter appearance..
- parameters in tabs..
so for instance every 150 parameters are hosted in their own tab..
this would make it 'manageable' I guess..

just an idea..

I also agree with Acidman, 128 CCs is a castration of ableton live- I cant use it with all bigger VSTs-microtonic,vstation, and so on....

User definable order of paramet, and tabs- that would be gread- yeaaa!

Thanks for the update, but I ran into a "Sample .. konnte nicht gelesen werden (es ist möglicherweise defekt" error while loading 24-Bit stereo .wav files in Live_603_DE on MacOS Intel(OS X 10.4.8). With 6.0.1 the samples were correctly imported...

Problem solved: the files had the suffix .wav but were in fact .aiff files...

well that idea that the gui is unmanagable with more than 128 parameters is one of those stupids Ableton's dogmas that cripples the software..... like saying that editing 2 functions curves at the same time ruins the interface... get out of your mold ableton -let the power users work!!!!!

-as for the 128 parameters limit, well stick with 128 slots if you want, all that is needed is a right mouse button menu item saying -drop this parameter. So you would go over a param that you do not need, rmb menu "DROP THIS PARAM" then it would be replaced by the next one, and you could repeat it until the param you want apprears. That way, you could stick to your interface.

Anyway, they know that fix since live4, they just won't do it. WHY?????

So who is responsible for those crippling and long lasting design problems:
-the 128 param limit
-editing many curves at the same time (for the same track)
-recording automation in session view clips

?????

this person should be fired fast, and replaced by someone who values functionality more than graphic design. And ACTS on these forever lasting design flaws.

functionality and graphic design go hand-in-hand..
if you read on the forum you would know that Ableton is well aware of these issues..
probably they are searching for the right way to approach these issues, both functional and graphical..
fireing people is not a solution I think..

Sorry, fired is a bit harsh I think.

I'm chimmin' in because this is to me, but far the worst release. I don't even know where to start.......

However, I have faith in the abe's, they are always friendly, un-assuming and almost always follow up. They certainly do not have that "it's the customers fault" attitude 90% of the other software companies have!

I'd like to add this, even though, for whatever reason, this is not the best release live has had, trust me.....I've got so much more maddening things from other software co's.......

just a thought.
