Common Terminology

Post by jkirk210 » Wed Dec 27, 2006 8:58 pm

I tried searching the forum for this info, but returned too many results to look thru.

Can someone explain, or give a brief meaning to the following terms;
Sample
Sampling
Mixing
midi controller

Thanks

try here

http://www.wikipedia.org/

it really has alot of info on electronic music.
Computer games don't effect kids... If Pacman affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music

Also, if you google something putting "define:" before it, you get a cross-section of definitions on the internet. For instance, googling define:sample gets you a relevant definition as the second result, and a link to the wikipedia source. Googling define:"midi controller" gets you similarly good results.

Yes, I am James T Kirk, and who would have thought your time at all those conventions would have paid off in such a big way.

Hah, I knew it! They aren't actually conventions at all, are they? I always figured they were proving grounds, and we were being scouted out.

I feel dizzy... I can't believe I'm actually talking to Captain James T. Kirk... will you take me back with you... please?

Looks like Shat momentarily lost gut control there, or maybe his control tops just gave out under the strain.
