HELP! TRYING TO UPDATE FROM LIVE 6.0 -- MAC OS X HELP !!!!

hi there,
im not very good with macs... i have bought and just installed live boxed set 6.0 and have downloaded 6.03 on to my hardisk. when the dmg files is complete and i double click i am told to move the 6.03 folder to my hardisk... now what?

i moved it into my applications folder and now i have 2 folders, 1 of 6.0 and 1 of 6.03! when i double click the 6.03 version and start the app it is asking me for serial number again? why does it not just upgrade itself? im so confused that i dont know what to use!

also, the boxed set of ableton live 6.0 does not come with operator but only with essential instruments.. is this correct? i have moved the EIC package 1 and 2 into the same folder as my ableton live 6.0...

unfortunately you need to enter the serial again, it's the same for all of us. I agree, a slight pain, but it could be worse.

Operator is not free, you have top pay extra for that. It's hidden in the preferences until you do.

when i start the application i should not open live 6.0 and just click live 6.03? what about EC pack 1 etc that i have already installed and the library folder? Thanks again you guys, i am a real newbie.

also, should i just delete the live 6.0 folder from my computer?

the serial is copy-paste-able from your registration info page. installing live on osx is only confusing cause its so much easier than most anything else. copy live to the app folder and delete the old version...be sure to copy any of your own files if you saved any into the live folder. done.
