No sound for lesson 4 tutorial creating drum patterns

Live Lite 4 Line 6 4.1.5

I am trying to do the tutorial on Live for creating a drum pattern, it tells me to drag impulse to an open slot and arm the track and I should be able play drum notes on my keyboard. I hit the ASDF keys as it tells me to , and no sound, I do get the light bar to flash like it is receiving the signal, but no sound.

The tutorial says to check for the keyboard octive, but I have tried each one changing the Z/X and Y key, and still get nothing.

Im using a Toneport UX1 with my guitar, and it works fine.

Whats further confusing is if I skip to Operator Lesson 3 , it plays the drum sounds fine.

Plz help

it may not know where the files are.

if so, it'll say something about missing samples at the bottom of the screen.
