Live 6.03 Normalize OFF rendering causes no audio in file

Hi,

I took a small clip that I was wanting to clean up for a song we play live and when normalize was enabled the file rendered fine. But when bringing into Sound Forge 7 it was clipping. So we decided to try and render again with normalize off in Live. When we loaded the file into SF 7 to save it out (since it can't play via WMP - why is this still a problem after rendering??) there was basically NO audio heard. I zoomed out and saw little to no signal. It was empty (file) but the size was correct. This is in Windows Media Center 2005 on a laptop. We did this a second time and it did the same thing. This is a definite problem that should be addressed.

Live 6.03 renders totally fine for me in win xp home sp2. win media center is an o/s I would avoid. I never normalize stuff, I use compression/limiting as appropriate instead.

A: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition is a version of Windows XP so there is no upgrade required or available from Media Center Edition to XP Pro. The only real functional difference between Media Center Edition and XP Pro is domain support. Domain joining is not supported on Media Center Edition and is supported on Windows XP Pro.

So with the addition of MC stuff it's just about the same and I highly doubt it's the OS. I'll try it again with the same clip on my XP Pro box and expect the same results. I'm surprised noone else has chimed in on this. I normally do not set Normalize on, I did for this to smooth out some peaks in it near end of this clip (it's a bit overdriven at that point but not too bad).
