ill post mine up when i actually remember to take my digi home from work but it would have even been more interesting to do the following:

1. Post a pic of your studio
2. Post a pic of you
3. Post some of your music.

because some of you guys, man... there is no way you make music anywhere close to the same quality as the studio you're working in. no offense and maybe im wrong but some of you guys are absolutely stacked with everything. how do you even establish a workflow in there? it's not me bagging on anyone's talent... it's me more curious about how you keep moving forward with that.

the more ive taken hardware OUT of my workflow equation, the more productive ive been.

Mission, I actually feel the same way...

At home I work more or less strictly with a Lemur + a laptop. I get a LOT of stuff done like this.

When playing live, however - especially a big gig - nothing beats hardware. I really do feel that putting on a show is easier if you have stuff to hit/tweak/scrape, etc.

Oh and bro... I used to be the guy that said you didnt need a midi keyboard!!

So Ive come full circle to realize how fucking fun it is to jam on the keys, tweek knobs, mix down with a desk, sweep a filter on an actual synth and all that! I was all of a sudden a musician again and haven't looked back!

When I was moving around the country a lot when my business first started, I was very nomadic and didnt have the studio setup. So I thought: "hmm maybe i can install logic on this POS 1.2ghz laptop and make a couple beats"... that somehow worked, turned out I had enough power to do way more than just drums, got some sennheiser headphones and went off for two years, making some of the the best stuff ive done at a pace that was relentless.

I guess it's all about finding the balance of both. I think I'm finally there now although I definitely wanna add an MPC to the equation.

How`s the pads on the Korg regarding feel and size? Suitable for bashing out some beats?
Not as good as a MPC or a trigggerfinger/padcontrol I`d think but anywhere near?

I`m thinking of getting some new keys and either theese or a Remote SL would be two
good candidates (or candy dates maybe..) The pads on the Remote however doesnt
seem too good for doing beats n stuff, but the automapping looks promising.

the pads aren't that good for playing in beats imo. I found them to be a bit of a let down in this departement.
i mostly use them to trigger clips/samples, activate/deactivate FX units.

thanks for the reply northernlight... I'm beginning to like pads, so i got an axiom... really enjoying it with impulse racks. If only I could set up Ezdrummer, but the programming of the axiom is way too complicated for these drink-too much days
