Ozonic, or any midi controller with a 'joystick'

Post by JoshR » Mon Nov 20, 2006 2:50 pm

Has anybody mapped the little joystick that's on Ozonic to anything in live? I've tried to map it to a bunch of different controls, but nothing works...

Re: Mapping little Joystick on M-Audio Ozonic

No man, haven't been able to figure out how to get Live to accept messages from the joystick (B18, B19, B20, B21) to anything in Live. And that is really irritating.

If anybody figures this out please enlighten us!

Thanks.

Hai guys,
I have an Ozonic and it took me a while to work it out. Basically all you have to do is take the X-Y box (you know the one on the plug-in? On the VST or whatever contained in the track. I know theres a name for this but it escapes me at this moment...) and click the MIDI mapping mode, then:
For the X axis, click the box where the numerical information relating to this axis is (just underneath the X-Y pad) and move the joystick very carefully along the X axis. This has now assigned the X movement of the joystick to the X axis parameter. You follow? :?: Then repeat this process for the Y axis, obviously being careful not to move the joystick on its X axis at the same time...
I have perhaps made it sound more complicated than it is, if I knew the correct terminology I might be of more use.
Hope this helps you all anyway!!

Re: Ozonic and MIDI assignment of joystick

Does it matter what your zone and bank selection buttons are set for? For example, I think A4 is optimized to work with Reason. Not sure if there is a particular combo for Ableton Live.

TIA, ganglion.

Thanks daniel_grieff. Worked like a charm.
Eganglion, don't know if it makes a difference, but my ozonic is set to zone1, bank A.
