It's an AU! Simply drop the "Component" inside: "Library/Audio/Plugins/Components"

To be more specific still, I really definitely don't care about overdubs, unless there's some advantage to them I don't know of (besides glitchy things like changing something in the middle which cuts everything else out, which is not what I'm into), and I think such explorations can wait. superflat, would you still recommend mobius if I'm fine to manipulate tracks separately? And what's so bad about Live for pedal-based live looping, when multiple people who do it have already called it elementary? Plus, I'm guessing Live is more flexible and lets you do things like incorporating plugins more easily, from my playing around with the Mobius interface without using it.

If you don't need to layer overdubs into loops Live is excellent! You'll find good detailed descriptions of peoples differemt setups in this forum. Use the seach function!

what he said (if you just want separate tracks, live is great, you get to use fx, etc.).

This is all very encouraging. I was just trying to see whether Live was for just this sort of thing or more of a mouse-oriented tool that would give me pain if I tried to apply it here. I think I'm gonna grab the demo and get started. Thanks, everyone! If anyone still has any thoughts on the topic, feel free to continue the thread.

That's right, I did mean with the loops on separate tracks. I can see in retrospect that I seemed to be rather intently referring to overdub looping, whereas I was just namechecking that approach to clarify the type of music building I had in mind, but I'm glad some of you got the idea despite me. Whatever advantages there are with manipulating the thing as a single building track (what are they, anyway? ;)), I'm not interested in that right now.

So if anyone who did say this was hackish would clarify whether they thought I meant actual overdub-style looping, that'd be great--though I'm very tempted to believe quandry and jerry123 since they actually make music this way.
I go with mobius as a vst in ableton live controlling both of them with the fcb1010 using midi yoke...I suggest U to try this setup out n' find your own preferences...I assure U U will have all the tools U need...U could for example route every track of mobius in a Live's track, overdubbing, bouncing or leave every track in sync with eachother n'\or on its own...the possibilities are infinite n' mobius doesn't limit U in anything n' gives U even the chance to sync live as a sync slave so no tapping,no count in,no metronome tracks(among many others that's definetelly my favourite reason to go this way)...only your creativity becomes the limit n' these are nice tools to push this limit farther...in a live situation using only ableton live I couldn't be able to find a setup that could give me that flexibility n' that freedom that I want...n' another advantage using also mobius is that U could free your cpu once U got your loop in mobius...take care
