Has there ever been any indication from Ableton as to whether or not this is going to happen at some stage?

I have to add my vote for multiple time signatures as well... I'm new, as of version 6 (though I've been watching it progress since v1), and I'm really surprised it doesn't have such a basic feature.

Also, I can't seem to get it to actually understand 6/8 properly -- it seems to think of it as 3/4 only. That is, the tempo is wrong... a tempo of 90 bpm in 6/8 is musically played as 60 bpm. This is, of course, because Live is only thinking in quarter-note time signatures, and thus assuming that 3/4 and 6/8 are the same thing... that's not too clever, musically speaking!

Anybody have any secrets for getting the tempo to run properly in compound time?

Just thinking about this... can I warp all the midi files in this project to triplets? That would amount to the same thing... or close enough, anyway.

Just bumping.
This is an essential issue.
A music program must approve and give a good base for different time signatures.

A just hear a 7/4 boggie yesterday...

Yes. And in my mind that may expand to a (scriped) controller track.

Bump.

This is a glaring oversight. I'm not always working in 4/4! Timesig automation for Live 7, please Abes.

one more vote, here too, for such a basic function !

and btw, doesn't need to be in its own special track as suggested by someone else (no offense ;)), just in the Master one like Tempo changes...

Thanks

Time signature changes + 1. Anything will do.

I suspect the warp engine is the problem here, especially seeing how the warp engine deals with off meter stuff. A tune of mine in 11/8 is a nightmare to do at the moment in Live, other progs just trundle away quite happily.

it would be silly to wait until live 7. they should just update this right now. i cannot believe i bought it!!!! it's useless for me since almost all music i am doing has these time changes. it's ridiculous. should've checked it before... at least they should let us know when they will come up with this feature that i know when i can come back using al...
