As I said up there great track listing which is why I then felt a little cheated when I listened to the whole thing.

Up until the Call me back mix I was really enjoying it, but mixing through its break down and then pretty much as soon as it drops mixing the next one in put me on the back foot. Then the harsh cut out into the next track really didn't work for me.

There are also a number of what I thought where errors as opposed to me not liking what you intended to do. Its almost like it jumps in a few places from one track to the next like its hasn't rendered properly or something. If this was what you intended then sorry but I just didn't like it. I prefer a real blend when mixing more liquid styles as to me it just doesn't lend its self to that type of mixing, like the darker or more minimal styles can do.

Volumes also seem to be a little up down. While in the mix you need to be tweaking the volumes and/or EQs so that when you drop into the next track the volume doesn't disappear. I guess you could use a limiter/compressor on the master to sort this out, but coming from a vinyl DJing back ground myself, I would always do that sort of stuff on the mixer.

Over all you did the hardest part of picking some great tunes and I thought in general the order of the tracks was good. Your technical aspects just need a bit of refining IMO to get that smooth blend from one track to the next.

ps. Don't mix everything so quickly let your tunes breath, after all you have picked them cause they are good so let them play.

haha. nice. Errors rendering? I dont know what your talking about. But considering that after call me back their are at least three tracks going from that point on. Sorry if it wasnt your thing but to me everyone does the same old shit mixing intro's to outro's shit is boring. But hey some people are going to be stuck in that lame state of mind doing the same old same old and trying to do shit that has already been done numerous times. Not me though. I still dont no about your rendering error comment. Anyways thanks for the feedback sorry it wasnt good enough for yah. I'll get mc conrad for the next one

Mixing more than 2 tracks at the time was not one of my issues, I was actually going to mention something about your "double drops" and evidently triple drops and teases actually being ok and not too noisy.

My main complaint was that tracks just seem to disappear in the mix. Around about 16:30 you have a mix of mostly Call me back with the tease of Bounce, but at about 17:20 those 2 just disappear and the third track is suddenly there. You tease Bounce back in but to me its too late as the harsh cut tears you out of the vibe. Another place I thought it was to harsh and spoilt the flow was the drop out of lighthouse into mix of No time to love. BTW was it the craggz and parallel forces mix as I only have a white label of the track and I'm not 100% if that's right? I'm only suggesting that you make these drops more subtle by rolling off the track that's going out of the mix using the EQ and/or volumes.

The not rendered properly comment was maybe harsh but I was trying to make a point that I thought there were some strange jumps in sound (hence the almost like in bold), that like I said above just totally brought me out of the vibe.

The concept of what your trying is fine, well better than fine its good and as you said is something slightly different but I don't think the execution backs up the idea.

ps. What's up with the ending it just cuts out, at least a fade down might have been nice.

well your opinion is very appreciated dont get me wrong. obiviously you know the tracks. I listen to alot of dnb but this is only my second attempt at mixing it. I mostly play progressive stuff but now that i have live i want to explore other genres of music.

BTW was it the craggz and parallel forces mix as I only have a white label of the track and I'm not 100% if that's right? <----- which track are you refering too?

thanks again for the feedback man i will take it into account for my next mix. Still learning but like i said i want to different stuff not the norm. Yeah the ending should have been leveled down.

About knowing the tracks, almost all of these have been in and out my box over the last months.

could be. I got it from beatport. it just says original mix there. Yeah am loving all of these tracks too. I listen to the jerona fruits podcast and the drum and bass arena podcast all the time. Good stuff.

I'm quite into the London Elektricity Podcast but I get alot mixes from www.breaksblog.biz . There's a new one on there every other day if not more often and they are almost all of a very high quality.

Also there is www.dnbshare.com which as the name suggests is a free host to share your drum and bass mixes/mp3s.

I almost forgot the John B podcast which I really like cause its something totally different for drum and bass plus I really respect him for doing totally his own thing.

thanks man, i will check them out. Besides beatport where is another good place to get mp3's of this style of dnb? Do you know of any others? yeah i also listen to the all the hospital record podcast. Logistics is by far my fave producer so far as you can probably tell. I didnt know john b had a podcast i will have to check it out. Thanks again for sharing all the info man it is much appreciated.
