does anyone have or use this have any pos./neg. comments about this? its a very nice piece of hardware though im a little confused what do with it other than use its very nice semi-weighted keys as a nice, comfortable piano. actually im using it in reason most and find its remote override edit a bit useless. for example id like to assign ASDR to the first 4 sliders but when i cant individually assign sliders to specific functions, all 8 sliders will control A or S or D or R. the knobs work well but still leaves me with only 8 knobs

not much hands on without the 8 extra sliders. im also thinking this was maybe designed for hardware in mind? very very nice machine but im wondering if this was really what i needed. any response would be appreciated.
thank you,
ps-sorry if this ended up more as a reason question

I have the same keyboard,
I really like it - but I dont use the knobs or faders at all, just the keys.
you should get a behringer bcr2000 to go with it, and you'll be set.

I already had a fader & knob controller I liked to use when I got the keyboard...
I just got it for the keys & build quality.
as for the bcr2000, well, its inexpensive, has a huge user base, and it uses 24 endless rotaries plus 8 endless push-encoders or whatever they're called. and it seems to play nice with all the big audio apps.
the dude has a great keyboard, but he's having probs with the faders/knobs...the solution isnt a new all-in-one keyboard, but simply adding a dedicated controller for knobs/faders ...whatever he likes to use. I like the endless rotaries myself.
just my opinion and how I like to do things.
maybe some other CME user who likes to use the knobs & faders can chime in with some tips for the threadstarter.

yeah, i looked into getting one of these and instead opted for the behringer bcr 2000, and for now have just stuck with my old evolution mk249 midi keyboard.......this keyboard has fantastic build, and the keys are great ..but there is just sooo much other stuff thats not so good about it, as a midi keyboard with a seperate controller it will be fine...also its worth mentioning the usb connection is poor as well...so best connected with the midi cable.......
check out the cme forum and youll see its all negative feedback about these keyboards...however for the price, and the fact it feels better than anything else in its price range, plus the keys are semi weighted...and its sturdy, metal casing............its probably worth the price.....
hope this helps

there is a "fader func" button to switch between 3 banks of faders
1st 2 banks send midi cc 7 on midi channels 1-16
so you should have no worries there
oddly enough mine sends midi cc 11 on all faders on same midi channel using 3rd bank
i got a bcf so i dont use the faders/knobs so much
i love my uf-6, dont know why so many people bitch about them
[edit] i almost forgot they released an editor so you can setup your knobs/faders to do whatever you like

you may want to keep in mind that once you connect your bcr2000 to your computer with USB, you can use it as a midi interface, so you could connect your midi keyboard to your computer (through the bcr2000) this way also if you like

sounds fine to me...
only one way to find out - try and see if you like it.
the cme uf-5 has enough space to sit a controller on it nicely.
a couple of faderfoxes sit on it nicely (
www.faderfox.com), as does the korg padkontrol
