I recently did a switch from PC to MAC. I went from a 5 year old DELL equiped with 512 mb ram and 800 ghz with only 80 MB of space. But at the time I was running CUBASE SX and things ran very smoothly using wav samples and midi via vst instruments.
Now I have swithced to this:
Machine Name: iMac
Machine Model: iMac6,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Of course I am running ABBLETON LIVE 4.1 to check
it out for something new and dynamic, but I am finding that with this
machine, that I am running into CPU issues and cliping is occuring.
I am applying the same amount of wav clips used back in my CUBASEE days
when I had my piece HELL?
Now, can someone please tell me what is going
on? I thought that for the buck, I had myself a pretty soiid piece
of machinery, but seems that LIVE does not handle aiff's well?
Or could it just be that a total of 3 GB or memory will have to
be tested tp get this program running correctly? I mean, are this
bugs fixed in 6.0? Or am my completely missing the boat?
Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated.
