Producing Breaks at half speed

If your producing breaks at 135bpm and you want to do some sort of down tempo-trip hop track to mix with it, Is there a differenc in producing it at 135bpm and making the snare hit less often, or

making it at say 70 bpm or so?

No difference at all. But you need to think about halving the real tempo for everything like delays.

You could produce it in 70 BPM and warping it in Live as if it were 140 BPM. Then it should mix at it's correct tempo with a 140 BPM tune.

click warp (so the break is unwarped) and then drop it down by an octave - itll now play at half speed but in your full speed arrangment.

If you click the *2 button, it will alter the clip's 'original bpm' setting to twice as fast, effectively creating a cut-time beat.

check your warp settings too. Doing it as complex or beats may not sound so hot for some material.

I use the technique you are speaking of when I remix Hip-Hop into breaks.
Get your Pella 70 BPM's and get your Beat at 140BPM and it creates a half step rhythm to the track. really good for what we call E-Hop here down south.
