Needed Feature: Apply clip changes to all selected clips

Post by jho » Tue Jan 27, 2004 12:47 pm

This is a desparately needed feature...highlight the clips you want, and apply a change to all of them. For instants, changing all the highlighted clips from global to 1/16 quantise, or changing the velocity setting, etc.

If I can do this already then someone please let me know but I haven't found the way yet.

I've not found a way, I REALLY want this too. Even just to change the colour and name of all selected clips would be a start.

Yes...I would like this too. Especially for colors.

Yes, there are many things in Live that need a little bit of streamlining to make it a much more powerful app than it already is. Extending MIDI control to many clip parameters is up there as well.

Another vote.

me too... Damn good idea. Warp mode, colour, RAM access, quantize, and TRANSPOSE would all be useful... Sorry I started a new thread on this, I didn't see this one until just now.

I also started a new thread with pretty much same thing in mind.

It's a VERY important feature for professional approach to workflow.

My 2c is that Launch mode setting should also be included in the settings that get changed to all selected clips.

Absolutely - live really does need this. It gets tedious trying to change new clips to beat mode at 1/32, when you still want most clips to default to tone mode for instrument loops. It's difficult to think a feature like this has been overlooked. I'd make things much easier. :)

count me in too, like montreal breaks said--lets make it for as many clip parameters as possible (velocity, RAM, warp settings, etc.). I think it could be as simple as a new icon (like the new draw "pencil" icon in Live 3)--turn the icon on, select all your clips with "ctrl" and left mouse clicks, then adjust one, and all the others chance. The new icon button would be a "safety" feature to make sure that you really want to do a change to all highlighted clips--without it on, Live would be just as it is now..

yeah, i second all that.
there could be a button like the "edit all" button in kontakt (though it's played bad tricks to me when I forgot its status).
or maybe just a window asking confirmation to apply changes to all selected clips as long as there's more than 1 selected.

Linked editing would also be good... when you've your drums multiple tracks...
