Nasty performance

I am experiencing the worst performance ever with Live 6...

I never had such serious problems with the previous versions...

So I have a set that's maybe too "loaded" or too "heavy"...

So as a registered user I contact the support guys and they told me that is a problem caused by an external plug...

Instead that I didn't use any priblemnatic plugs (considering the "AUDIO Unit and VST stats" sticky topic") I deleted all vsts and I froze all tracks...

BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON

still the same clicks pops dropouts and crashes

I don't know what the f*********k is wrong, but i feel quite desperate

Please respond,,,, anyone after reading my specs (that's the nost weird)

ASUS P4P800 DELUXE mainboard
G-FORCE FX 5700 graphics card
2.5 G DDR pc3200
120G HD@7200 r.p.m.
36 G HD@10000 r.pm.
MOTU Traveler and M-Box (same shit with both of them)

Perhaps your audio Buffer Size is set a bit low? If you increase the size (and latency) does this help? Does pointing Live's plugin preferences at another -empty- VST folder make any difference? If that still gives you problems, then you are probably looking at some PC/audio setup thing. I'm a Machead, so sorry can't be of much help there.

I have tried d=various buffers for the audio interface and for the plug-ins...

The thing you told me with the folder is to reinstall the plug-ins at another folder...

The pc was formated before a couple of days...

I am also a mac-head (macdeath

) but until I will get one I wortk with this shit under the f*&*^^^^(*ng Windows

There are some similarities in our setups. I'm using a 2.6 P4 on an Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2G RAM, 3 HD's and an old Aardvark LX-6.

Unfortunately I don't have any big performance problems with 6. It gets a bit sketchy at maybe 60% CPU but every version of Live I've used has been that way.

The bulk of the problems I've had historically have seemed to be controller & USB related

disclaimer: I also don't usually push the program very hard and I almost never use any 3rd party plugs.

I have tried it both with an M-Box and with the traveler...

When it goes above 70% the glitchs and clicks come over

Well that doesn't surprise me at all. You've got to work it so it stays under 60%
