Zebra2 should be more than capable enough for any synthesis needs IMO.

I own both and I'd say Zebra2 has more capability and is a little more involved than say Atmosphere. You can definitely push Zebra2 further than Atmosphere and really make sounds that truly are your own, but for accesibility and ease of use I'd still go with Atmosphere. Sonically, I think they're both brilliant.

I downloaded the demo and let me tell you...it's good but I am not sooo convinced... some sounds are too weird
I have a total newbie question: why some soft synth require a huge library (ex Atmosphere) and others, like Zebra2, don't?
sorry I know it's a stupid question

Because Atmosphere is basically 2 simplers + a very huge preprogrammed preset library.

Zebra is capable of doing synthesis. Atmosphere is just playing back samples.

The new XMF filter(s) in Zebra 2.1 is a must listen. The basses that thing makes are some of my favorite I have heard. Turn up the overdrive and the bass can make such a nice growl.

The XMF is one serious filter. I think there is no better soynth out there than Zebra

I agree...
Life is Good . . .
Live 8, Zebra 2, Battery 3, Microtonic, Soundhack, Wave Editor, All Ohmforce, Trackplug 5, Kensington Expert Mouse, and a couple of cheap controllers...

Zebra is fantastic for pads and sonic textures. If you are new to synthesis, you might be better off with Atmosphere. If you have any inclination to learn how to use it, Zebra is capable of wide ranges of sounds and has a rich playability you will not get with Atmosphere. The comb modules are like a secret weapon they are so versatile and unique.

Try the demo out for a while. A synth is like an instrument. The bigger cost imo is the time it takes to learn it well and if you are just looking for some standard sounds, Zebra might not be for you.

Zebra + a sampler and you can make a whole career or a lifetime hobby and never need anything else.
