Reason 4
The sequencer has a full screen view. You can seperate it from the rack if you so choose. It is the instrument rack that you cannot resize.

well not really - if it looks like it's trying to be a real sampler by sticking silly screws on it etc then it should in theory at least do what a real sampler does - i.e. SAMPLE!
if reason 4 has a patch bay which manages inputs and outputs then I'll be impressed
BTW anyone else noticed in all the comments so far the propellerheads have said "in AN upcoming version of reason" - not reason 4 - if it was going to be the update everone is expecting then you'd think there's be no reason not to say reason 4
you dont think they could really be thinking of a .5 update again??
tell ya what though, if they do then I am going to HOUND Ableton for a point update that at least has GROUP SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually I'm going to hound them about that anyway, but some more things would be cool too!

Psst.
there is a Dual FM oscilator.
the thing is modular. there are 3 oscillator slots. 3 filter slots. some effects and a mod matrix. they havent even given a list of the options. lets chill on "that can be done with a combi"
why do the people who really don't even have interest in having interest in reason post about it?
it's GUI is great. if you like it. it makes great sense to me. but more than that, it is consistent. i am not as enamored with Live's interface...but i havent invested 7 years in it, so i am not sure yet whether it is the program or me.
and here is th obligatory "of course there is more than this"

well in my case I started out with reason and just came to the end of it's limitations - I got into the beta for R3 and I was really disappointed by the direction they took it in and was already barely using 2.5 any moreSurreal wrote: why do the people who really don't even have interest in having interest in reason post about it?
I just dont want to piss about with rewire and all it's limitations when I can just load up so many good vsts and vstis in Live (or whatever) so much more easily - fruity loops even put it to shame with the sheer level of options and flexibility
even the inclusion of the mastering stuff made it seem like they only had in mind people who wanted to use nothing else - rather than people who just use it as a sound source as part of many
guess I just grew out of it

I really like the look of Thor. Its a great idea. It takes a lot of what has been suggested on the Prop's forums over the years, including from myself.
A decent lowpass filter and a high pass filter, as well as a bunch of new oscillators, Thor really could be good. Let's hope it doesn't alias like the Sub does.
For me now, its a moot point, I have left Reason behind. Although this is mostly because Live doesn't do what it should with rewire [Uh oh, there I go again...].
Even so, I would be happy with using Reason again if it had some basic DAW features like a real time wav recorder and player, tempo automation and a ruddy mixing desk with solo's that work across multiple desks. But it won't so I'll stick with Live for now.

I don't see why it's any harder to see what's going on in reason. most vst have some sort graphic interface, too, trying to look cool or something. where's the difference?
now fullscreen, that really would be helpful.
Apart from that, what are the problems everyone seems to have with rewire? is it the lack of delay compensation? That I can relate with, but any other complains about ease of use, I don't get; I mean it's not like it's significantly more of a pain to set up than a vst...

calling something Sampler and not being able to actually sample is for me the same thing as giving it the looks of a sampler and not being able to sample..
Isn't the 'sampler', as it ones was, dead anyway?
Ramplers, that's what they all are these days..
