No it's actually Westerners using mind control devices aimed at them from satellites in outer space. Forcing them to blow each other up at market places and bus stops and while they're looking for work. Oh, and this western mind control device is also causing them to kidnap and mutilate each other with power drills every day. I'm sure they are in no way responsible for their actions. Oh, and that's just the Middle East... I'm sure they have nothing to do with the genocide in Africa, That must also be the West forcing them to butcher the non-Muslims over there.

thats just not true .. is it your guess or do you have some kind of source? my uncle used to work in lybia (as a surgent during the early eighties). he's also been doing a lot of lecturing in boston .. the level of education didn't differ that much, but the knowledge about the rest of the world did, in favour of people from the ME ..

seems like there is a large bunch of self proclaimed sociologists and theologists on this board that really should be taking time to perfect those beats instead ..

For the record, my iPod is only 1 GB and my freezer only stocks lo-phat ice cream

As far as the other thing, my answer is the same as yours... the Devil made 'em do it. (difference being that in our culture that plea gets you a good lawyer- in theirs it gets you beheaded)

and did you miss the part where I said I'm all for people who are hands on with the violence and its aftermath, to talk about inciting more violence ? That means you big buddy. I guess you're better at writing than reading...

those are all interesting things you've said, can you embelish just a little ? like what front line you were on, where you were on tour, etc...that kind of thing. puts alot more perspective to it. otherwise it just looks like a random rant with no real details, not even brief ones...

How on EARTH does my post count make any difference in any way? For all you know, I have a Ph.D. in mid-east history, but I just bought Ableton Live.

And while I don't agree with everything M. Bréqs says in this regard, I do think that there is a certain amount of truth to it; we just are SO afraid of saying it, that it seems shocking. We need to admit to ourselves that we ARE at war with Islam, insofar as there are basic tenets of the Qu'ran and the hadith which are incredibly violent, or at the very least can be taken that way.

There are equally violent parts of the Old Testament, so this argument applies equally to Christians and Jews, alike. The difference is that Christians and Jews learned (for the most part) that they cannot enforce these views AND live in a civilized world; they are mutually exclusive.

I think everyone should be free to believe what they want, free from bigotry of any kind. But I also believe that if people are killing innocent civilians, that we deserve to have an open, honest discussion about why that is. To me the answer is clear: they believe that doing so is what god wants.

Nope, not no reason. Many believe that holy text EXPLICITLY commands them to kill apostates and non-believers, and many believe that it is a virtue to do so.

I'll say it again, if oppression were the key, Tibetan Buddists, sub-Saharan Africans, and the US intercity poor would be the ultimate terrorists. I'm not trying to say all muslims are terrorists; far from it. The vast, vast majority are not. But to argue that islam is a religion of peace, and then say "Behead those who say islam is a violent religion", leaves a certain disconnect.

This is not bigotry or racism; it's demanding that people behave according to the basic rules of civilization, and scale their beliefs with the available evidence.

Exactly. Christianity was in this position, and not that long ago. Do you know when the Inquisition ended? In the early TWENTIETH century.

This isn't an attack on islam, but on religion in general. At least, that's what it is for me.

we are not at war with them over religion, their religion does allow them to be violent, but its due to politics that blood is being shed.
lucky for them they are strong in faith, or we would have steam rolled them by now.

but since you asked, i was in the us army for four years, and it was sickening... i never said i was in combat either, but i've stood my ground surrounded by an angry gang of radical islamists in london who chanted for my death, i've been dragged through the streets by MPs in korea who didn't like what i stood for, i've been kicked out of classes by professors who thought my ideas were dangerous.

i expect that things in america will spiral out of control soon and i'm going to be there doing my best to help people figure it out. as for inciting violence i don't advocate it anymore than jesus, mlk, or ghandi. but those guys weren't indifferent either, they knew that their actions would force the powers of evil to send in their armies, they knew people would die for their ideas, their ideas were good, worth dying for. i'm still young, still learning, still trying to decide at what point i'm willing to step over the line forever and ride the wave rather than let it wash over me....

you need an attitude check mister, i hate to say i'd prefer not to explain everything to you, but i feel like it would be pointless unless you've got some life scars to show or at least a quality education to start with. so where are you coming from?
