Jam Packs in LIVE and plug ins

I know this topic comes up frequently, but I talked to someone today an audio store that confused me. Is it possible to use the Garageband/Logic instruments or the Apple Live Pack loops in Ableton Live?

Also, where can I find information on plug-ins for Live? Are plug-in's essentially instruments that can be added?

Yup. They don't retain their metadata as they do in Logic or GB, but you can import them just ike any other AIFF file.
