hardware inserts?

Doing a little testing here, but I can't get my head around how I can hook up my hardware EQ's as insert effects in live? My HW reverb works fine! For that one I created a return track that sends audio to the proper soundcard out and a new audi otrack with the verb input as audio input (is this the correct way?)

But you can't do it that way with a hardware insert because of the dry/wet problem... Any infos? Tx!

I'd think you would do it very similarly, except instead of using a return track, you'd just set the original track's output to a soundcard output, and again use a separate track to recieve the input.
