hey,
i have to do a remix of a tune. i have 8 single tracks like vocals, drums etc.
the tracks are not recorded with computer metronome, so i thought i might edit them in live. of course what id like to do is analyze the drum track first and then apply all the settings (like where is bar 49.1...where is bar 57 etc) to all the other tracks too.
cause when i simply start playing them at the same time, theyll play in sync, so they would need the same amount of time stretching. unfortunately, they dont exactly have the same length, they all start at the same time, but some end earlier.
any advice? is that possible at all? or should i better try melodyne for that?
how to prepare 8 handplayed audio tracks for a remix at once

From Live 6 onwards, this is very easy, so long as your clips are exactly the same length.
In the Arrange View, just put your drum track (or the track that you will be using as the "master" for warping the others) at the top of the page - i.e. on Track 1. Put all the other Clips below it, all starting at bar 1. At this stage, although un-warped, they should all line up.
Double-click the Drums clip to open the Clip View. Now Shift-click on the other clips to select them too.
That's all there is to it. Turn on Warp for the drum clip. See the title bar in clip view becomes striped diagonals - this tells you that multiple clips are selected for editing. Now any Warp Markers you insert and move around in the drum clip will apply to the other selected clips as well. The furthest-up-the-page of the selected clips (ie the lowest track no,) is always regarded as the master.
BUT! You mentioned that your clips AREN'T the same length. No problem, you just need to do an extra step before the above. Drag all the clips into the Arrange page, line them up with warp switched OFF for every clip. Now highlight all the clips UP TO AND INCLUDING THE LONGEST CLIP. Once thats done, hit Consolidate (command-J) and Live will render up a new set of audio files of the selected (equal!) length, in place, on every track. Then use the method described above.
Hope this makes sense, let me know if you have any trouble.

You'll be fine on Live 5, it's just not quite as easy. Still do the consolidate thing, because again the clip length is critical.
Then make a single track which will be your warp master. Drums, probably.
Warp that track.
Now copy that track so you have a total of 8 tracks, and use the "Repl" button in the clip view of each of the copies, to swap out for the other 7 audio tracks.
