With in-ear phones it seems that everybody is slightly different- for me the E2's worked best when put in the opposite ear intended (ie Left in the Right ear and vice versa) and without putting the cable over my ears so that side of it didn't bother me.

If anything, I felt that the CX300's had a slightly "better" bass response for normal listening use- maybe a bit less accurate and pumped up but in a real world situation, defintely a little better- try them with a bit of Monolake to hear what I mean

I'm going to try the Etymotic in-ears soon so I'll certainly let you know how I get on with them.
