But which one's better for trance? Answer the question!djsynchro wrote:Macs tend to have more high frequencies, depending on the type of music you make that can be a good thing, or something you need to be careful about.
PCs tend to have a bigger bottom end, which makes them more suitable for dance music.

This answers the original posters question. Can we shut the thread down now?

But what kept the laptops using G4 processors for about 3 years too long was the fact that the G5 ran too hot.
It was all they could do to clock-down the G5 and sqeeze it into an iMac. It would have melted the case on a PowerBook, though.

We did a field test with the MacBooks version 1 against the version 2's and it's without a doubt better to make trance with a MacBook version 1 then 2robin wrote:But which one's better for trance? weird, i now - but true
the MacBook Pro's sound better for ElectroClash, that goes without saying
but still Hip Hop sounds way better on a PC - ya heard!
PC over MAC
Yes Mac runs less processes allowing for audio drivers to run a bit smoother, but Apple's recent change to Intel's processors has left many Mac owners very upset. XP is still the best all-around computer. Plus most plugins run better on XP. Mac is still waiting for many to be compatible (this was a problem even before Universal Binary). It is also easier to add storage for PC.
When thinking of laptops, you need to decide between USB and Type II Card Slot. If you wanna use card slot, look into Acer laptops with the new Core 2 Duo chips. If USB is your option, then you have more choices like Acer, Dell, Toshiba, HP, etc.
PC is the broader platform that you will appreciate. Don't worry about stuff you can only get for mac. All you really need is Ableton, Reason, ProTools (for you "industry standard" fiends), some plugins and your hardware.
