What do you mean by "not working"? What VSTs? Do they show up in the browser? If so, what happens when you drag them to a track? If not, where do you have them installed?

sorry, i mean that ableton doesn't even recognise them. it recognises AU's but not VST's , av after i deliberately put only a couple of Universal Binary comaptible VSTs in the VST folder

?!???

Same problem ...

Post by qbqdavid » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:47 pm

Hey,

I'm just migrating stuff over from my G4 to my MacBook and having almost the same problem. No matter what I try, LIVE does not see any plugins except, in my case, Apple. No AudioUnit. no VST. They're in the right folder. Everything is correct.

So anyway, I'd be happy to have AudioUnits working. How do you get those to show up?

Thanks,

David

If you are migrating from a G4 to a Macbook, you HAVE to have universal binary versions of your old plugs so that they will run on an intel mac.

universal plugins

Post by qbqdavid » Tue Jan 23, 2007 9:10 pm

Hey,

Yeah, I think I do, at least for one or two. I just installed the lates Absynth 3 and assumed it would show up. On my G4 and G5, it shows up as both VST and AU. But like I said, I don't even see a folder for VST and AU in LIVE's browser. It seems i would see that even if there were no usable plugins inside. No?

It does seem like those folders should show up. However, I don't believe that Absynth3 was ever UB. You may have to get the upgrade to Absynth 4 for that. But I could be wrong.

You really need to check each and every plug, and get the UBs if they are available. This has proven to be the major pain in the ass for most people making the switch to intel macs.

Best,
