hi, I'm a technically competent dj, with experience using tts and cdjs and have finally made the leap to digital. A friend and I then got live 5, and sat for a while looking slightly bemused at the interface totally lost. We've looked up tutorials elsewhere, but very little for someone musically competent, but clueless with the interface. I'm looking for basic tutorials/ intros to djing with live 5, thanks in advance,

Re: starting from scratch
You might check out the Computer Music Special Issue 18, Digital DJ. It's not only about Live, but there's definitely Live stuff there. I don't know if it's in the stores anymore, but you can order it here:blkadr wrote:hi, I'm a technically competent dj, with experience using tts and cdjs and have finally made the leap to digital. You'll also find useful info in Computer Music Special Issue 20, The Insider's Guide to Ableton Live. Though this is a current issue, it may be even harder to come by, as the site above claims the run is sold out.
Good luck.
What it is (for Now): (2) Lenovo Dual Core desktops, Edirol PCR-800, Sonar 8.5 PE, Live 8 w/Operator and Sampler, the unloved PT 8, Kontakt 4, Battery 3, GPO 4, mulititudinous plugs and libraries, much unused hardware. And... silence; much silence.
