Post by praecox » Mon Jan 29, 2007 7:42 am

hi,

i'm new in ableton, just bought it and exploring it's great possiilities:)
my question is how to set up a submix to hear the groupped signals?

i have routed some audio trax (audio outputs to Sub Mix track, monitor IN switched ON on the Sub Mix track, output MASTER) and it' s seems to be ok. anyway when i click SOLO button on the Sub Mix - don't hear any sound...

what's wrong?

thnx

HA HA ABLETON DID YOU HEAR THIS?????????????????????????????????????

Sorry, you're new round here so you dont know what I'm on about, but if you do a search for "group solo" you will find a whole pandoras box on this matter

in short. it's not a bug, just an unbelievably infuriating deficiency!!!

yes, i have found this "pandora's box" :)

the best solution that i have found is rewire - i have groupped live tracks in logic audio mixer:) and works perfect as always!

what about to make one great app from two of them? apple! buy them!!!

you could group via a send, it allows you to solo the individual tracks and not have to solo the group channel at the same time. Not perfect but its the most elegant solution Ive found. Or you could assign all the channel's solos to a single key.

yeah tried both of them - I dont like either

the send thing is just confusing and messy, and the keys I use for other things and it's annoying having to remember to do it and which they are etc as you change it - but the keys is better than sends for me and I have done it some times

but I really want this put in in a 6.XX bus release - it's too much of a fundamental mixing thing to not be in there and even one of the Live 6 demo tracks highlighted it by having a sub-mix track which I instantly went to solo and - silence!
