Changing the time signature !!!
I definitely want multiple time signatures, it would make things much easier.

I've done some work on this. If you set the global time sig. to 1/1 or whatever doesn't matter. Work in session view. I name each scene the different time sigs. I want to use, just to keep orderly. Then I change the time sig in the clips to match the scene sig. Now you can jump from scene to scene and you'll bee changing sigs. I've even written a whole piece (short experiment) beginning to end in downward scene sequence. It is admittedly less than ideal, but until the Abes solve this one it'll have to do. I've been requsting this feature sinc ver. 1.5.

Then the only other thing is to ensure your loops are cut to 3 beats for 3/4, 6/8 etc. or 7 beats for 7/8 etc. Honestly, I stay in 4/4 but it'd be good for me for work with 3/4 more just to get used to it.
meh, just discussing...
You know, my dear friend, one of these years, I'll actually hear one of your songs, and then perhaps we can have this academic discussion.
no shitte, thank Lord Khun Dara my day of corporate exploitation has since ceased with the sun.Tone Deft wrote: Dunno, I'm having one fuck of a monday...
oh, and I also am quite curious about your musaq. Are you even real? Or a new breed of artificial intelligent web based musicdroid?

my corporate job is pretty cool, as it goes, hours are cool, monday's are mondays, it was a pretty good weekend, that never makes for a good monday.
on the music tip, I'm getting called out here, OUCH. I'm just bad at finishing stuff, I love tweaking on Live and playing around, building riffs, trying tricks, but nothing's ever good enough, nothing's ever done, so I tweak on something until I'm sick of hearing it then I move on. I guess I have no motivation to FINISH a track, I do jam with other people, I do have a fun DJ mashup set, but I don't finish tracks and play them for people.
I'm sure there are lots of other users out there like me, having fun but the REAL output isn't there, but that's not interesting to talk about. Does it matter? Is it real? I dunno, have fun and keep music in my life, that's my goal. Maybe that's not enough, hang it up, sell it all, get an Xbox360 and a lobotomy and forget it.
I do (mostly lol) stay out of the threads that are beyond my knowlege, but that's the stuff I'm here to learn and get inspired by.
...but this isn't about me.

Hi Richard,
I am glad that you are making a big deal about this. While there are many work arounds, I am always dissapointed that each upgrade does not adress this lacking.
It's too bad you have to talk so much about your job and other people's balls. I liked you more when you were making reasonable criticism about live's established lacking in the area of multiple time signatures.
In fact, however, live is not a toy. It is an alternative means of approaching the sequencing and DAW needs in a universally approachable and effective manner. SOme will even argue that it is its own instrument. Particularly, with regard to its expanding routing options and ever-expanding interfaceability, live has proven it'self to be quite effective as a professional tool and has one several prestigious awards in a very limited number of years. You on the other hand, after 25 years of surfing the great web have so far only demonstrated poor anger-management skills, and a lack of etiquette. On the other hand, however, I do agree with you about the need for more flexability relating to time signatures.
Goodnight.

Tone Deft, in this regard, I'd say I'm a lot like you. It's not the way I intended, of course, but like you I'm becoming more and more comfortable with it. You're having fun for now, and if the time comes to get some serious work down, you'll have developed the technical chops along the way. All good.I'm sure there are lots of other users out there like me, having fun but the REAL output isn't there, but that's not interesting to talk about.
