yep, apeshit and insane sounds fun. so mixed reviews on the new 800RBs... any other bi-amp heads to look at?tjwett wrote: well i was doing it with pedals but you could easily achieve this with any bi-amp head. just get your cutoff point to where you want it and go out to the two cabinets of your choice. you could add a multichannel preamp to the passive fx loop on the 800RB and that would give you a few more fx loops to play with. lots of ways to do it really. if you want to be really insane you could add a second output jack to your bass, i think Bootsy does that; one jack for every pickup, and just go apeshit from there.
Anybody know Ashdown's stuff? (specially bass players)

i dig Hartke stuff, the 7000 is biamp and a good price. tube pre also. some people ignore Hartke but i've always found their stuff to be powerful and extremely reliable. the tone wouldn't be my first choice but for power, price and peace of mind they get my vote. made on long island! and the Hartke cabs are great and can handle a lot of highs and fx well. Carvin also have a few bi-amp options for great prices. i like them too.continuous wrote:

Both the Hartke and Carvin are lookin good.
Thanks for the suggestions... they have really widened my view of the options available to me.
@tjwett... thanks for the link to that older GK800RB. I can't really do used at this stage, I have to be able to make payments, but it's cool to see one so that I know what to look for and even more importantly to stay away from the new ones cuz I was pretty seriously lookin, into them.
thanx again and cheers

Much like the Nazis in Casablanca, Ashcroft enjoys a good song -- as long as people remember their place.
