Running drum machine into Live

Post by evilteenagetwin » Tue Aug 06, 2002 3:47 pm

I just got my grubby paws on a Machinedrum, and am looking forward to hooking it up to my iMac to record my jamming on it - and then edit down the session into loops to arrange.

I have one question - I'm (probably) picking up a second-hand Edirol UA-30, and getting the Propogamma ASIO driver... is there any way to synch the playback of loops in Live with the drum machine ? ie. delaying playback of the sounds from the Mac by the same number of milliseconds as the latency on the inputs ?

Anyone else take a similar approach ?

Thanks for any advice,
Nick

If I understand your question, go into preferences>midi and adjust the latency setting at the bottom of the dialogue box. I am not at my computer at the moment but I seem to remember you can adjust +/- 50ms.

Rimgs a bell - I'll check my manual.

Thanks.

Excellent - works perfectly.

I'm currently running the UA30 (with Propogamma ASIO driver) at 7ms latency with no problems, in both Live & Muzys (in case anyone's interested).

Cheers,
Nick
