So, there was the Idea of making a track together in another threat.

Perhaps this thread could become a colabritive track production process??? Each person adding a little to the track?

Just a thought, it might help answer many of the "how do I make a track" questions that we get on this board... could become a sticky for future refrence?

Yep, that´s a thing I read about in the past.
I guess working on a project with more than two people could
be hard, but about 8 Euros per month are absolutely nice.

Ok, what we need is a specific style, minimal/tech house i think was the suggestion in the 'hijacked' thread but something more specific is needed

Two ways of going about this

A)Everyone posts their fave track as inspiration and a certain style is derived from this, perhaps a hard way to go about it but still...

B)We discuss what specific style; detroit, tech, electro, pure minimal etc. and come up with some sort of outline/plan

Then we assign parts to everyone, this has to be very specific and people must stick to what they are assigned (obviously people will do what they feel best at, not picked out of a hat)

Then everyone sends parts to a masterer/arranger who sends the finished product to everyone else, who say the +ves/-ves, then tweaks can be made.

Then everyone votes for a name & some sort of artist name (off the top of my head, et al? perhaps)

Then we have a battle in the cage of death on who gets the royalties (or just share)

I have to agree with c1c2 that working in realtime together is very difficult, and beside that are we located all over the planet in different timezones.

The issue with assigning special parts to each other is difficult, too.

e.g. for me it's hard to make a bassline/drumsequenz/melody without hearing the rest of the music. Every element/sound has to correspond with each other -

so, i think a good way would be that someone starts with a beat + a corresponding sound , send this as whole .als project to the next person, next element is added and so on....

Arrangement is done on the fly - everybody is responsible about how he brings his element into the song. parts are discussable. after the addition of a part it should be posted in the forum for audition.

Should we use only rendered .wav files in the arrangement or the ableton fx/instruments with their midi clips?

And for the Style.....
i love different kinds of minimal house/techno. Like this reduced, bouncy stuff from Cabanne, Pantytec, or the older Jeff Milligan.... but also the twisted, crunchy and organic type of minimal from artists like Bruno Pronsato, Ricardo Villalobos, Dandy Jack, Portable

one of my alltime favourite's :

ok so one at a time, im up for starting it off doing some beats, im thinking, well actually its best for you to hear, so il go away and come back tomorrow with some for the next guy to add something.

I reckon we should send it as wav but make sure to keep the .als for tweaks later

i havnt been this excited since richie hawtin gave me one of his 'moody' looks, i think it was because i was stood on his foot

Brill, remember this is gona be minimal- so keep it simple and proggy when it comes round to you. Il split the beats up into 4/8bar sections. I find it best to compose the full onslaut of the tune first so everythings in a 4/8bar section and work from there, but thats just personal preference, we'll just go with the flow, i reckon bassline or ambience next, then 303 after the bassline...

Whos up for ambience?
