How do i make ableton load different templates in mac osx? I want 2 different copies to have different i/o setting everytime i load. Because now every time i load it is the same with the same midi controls and same i.o settings.

Not sure on OSX, but on the PC, since the template file is saved in the user preferences for the OS, the only way to do it is to have two seperate OS profiles. A little limiting, I think.

My suggestion is to set up a folder on your desktop or some other easily accessible location, and just store blank Live files in there that are templates. Just double-click those as needed for a particular situation. Note that a very good idea would be to get in the habit of opening the template you want to use and then IMMEDIATELY do a Save As and put it somewhere else, so you don't over-write a template with edits.

I save off different setups like this
_8 track audio
_8 tracks midi
_guitar mic setup

etc. So when I hit 'open file' in Live those templates are at the top of the list.

When I'm working on a project for a while, I set that one was my default template, so I can launch Live and start where I left off right away.
