duo core PC, 6.0.3 - CPU @ 1352%???

Hi, I'm running a Pentium D830 Duo Core 3GHz, 3Gb RAM, 7200rpm hard drive desktop machine. I opened up a project in my recently upgraded Live 6.0.3 that i've been working on in Live 5. The first time I opened it, the CPU performance didn't seem to improve a whole lot between 5 & 6. before the song started playing it was hovering at about 41%. the second time i opened it a few minutes later, the CPU went all the way down to 3% and the song played flawlessly, no hiccups. the THIRD time i opened it again a few minutes later, i haven't even started playing the song. merely setting the locator back to the beginning made the CPU jump, at one point, to 1352% (at certain moments i was something like 382% or something mind-boggling).

i didn't do anything to the computer in between opening up these sets. Any ideas? much appreciated.
