I'm trying to find this information in the manual, but it doesn't appear to be there.
When I preiew a MIDI file in the file browser, what MIDI playback device does Live use? On Windows, it doesn't seem to use the system default playback engine (Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth in my case). The MIDI playback engine seems to be REALLY low quality, regardless of what it is..
I would love to be able to set Live up to use MY CHOICE of MIDI playback engine. Better yet, how about a GM capable instrument built-in? ala Universal Sound Module in Cubase?
