the only single person in the entire world that hasn't changed in the least since the 80's. I say this in a good way. He's the one person you'll ever meet that isn't ashamed of his high school hair cut or his "terrible" 80's discography.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

i got this live dvd of a show in las vegas, it's amazing. a truly great artist, that has always been exploring new ways.
by the way, i loved his recent single "black sweat". check it if you haven't already. and listen to it again if you have.

he was revolutionary with the guitar
revolutionary with the keyboards and electronics but you never hear about it
and not one bone of fear in his body. he blurs the lines between what an artist a farmer and a warrior are.

mother...fucking..yes. You can say what you want about the music, but the show and the skills you just can't take away from him.

The man is a living icon! The energy of that performance was sick. The stage turns purple, he's got that penis-guitar, and it's full-on raining when he sings Purple Rain. I mean come on, it doesn't get classier than that.

We were watching this yesterday and thinking that this is like the best superbowl half-time ever. Mainly because it was classy, simple, and just plain good. Not too much showy pizazz, but all heart and incredible chops.

The only thing better is knowing that the little freak prolly got it on with his two dancers both before and after the gig.

Fave moment: when he slams down the microphone stand at the end and cues the audience to sing along till the end. Mad energy in the stadium, I'm sure.
