I've run a couple of remix "competitions" and have had mixed degrees of response. It all depends on the mojo of the artist at the moment. But the easier to get the work done, the fewer the barriers, the greater the response will be.

OK, well then let's have a show of hands... maybe we should start a sign-up thread? Here's some guidelines that I feel will help keep this accesible to everyone that wants to participate. (these are just suggestions- everyone is welcome to chime in)

1) If any samples are used they must be royalty-free. Alternatively, you can create/record your own audio file.
2) Use only the fx and instruments that are included in the standard version of Ableton Live 6. (i.e.- no sampler or operator)
3) If 3rd party Vsts are used they must be of the freeware variety and the user must post a clear link to the download site of that instrument or fx.
4) The participant must save and upload the als file and any new audio files introduced during their session. I'll set up a secure ftp site for uploads/downloads.
5) After their turn, each participant must render their contribution as an(192Khz) mp3 then upload and post a link so that everyone can hear what they've done and how the project is going so far.
6) There should be a time limit alloted (48 hrs.?) for each participant to do their thing so that the project moves along at a reasonable pace.

Well? ...we doin' this? Just gimme the word and I'll set up the ftp.
