Post by sleepwalker » Wed Feb 07, 2007 3:29 am

When are the guys at Ableton going to give their official low down, regarding Vista support/compatability?

Have you tried to install Ableton Live on an official release of Vista yet? I'll be getting a copy of Vista Ultimate in the mail soon I'll give it a shot and share my results.

Do NOT install Vista until they have the upgrade. Or at least dual boot the system. Ableton live does not work well under Vista. The meters refresh VERY slowly and there's other graphical issues. You really won't be able to use the software unless you don't need meters. My computer has high specs so it's not a resource issue.

I email support and they said they were working on the upgrade but couldn't give any estimate :(

Thanks for the info I was going to try loading Ableton Live in a virtual machine to test it with Vista, but since you've already confirmed saves me the trouble thanks!

I'm using live 6.0.3 with Vista premium, and no issues yet with graphics etc...although some of the mp3s live loaded up are clicking as if maxing out cpu - although it never reaches more than 2/3%.

Any ideas ?

CPU meter around 60-70% is a normal level to start seeing audio dropouts, I find.

Just wanted to let people know that the 6.06a and 6.06b releases cleared up my issues with Ableton and Vista. Nice to be back on track!
