odd expression pedal behaviour in live

I've recently bought an expression pedal that I hooked up to my edirol pcr-50 and assigned to cc11.

it works fine within reason and kontakt in standalone mode.

however, somehow the messages don't get through to kontakt if I use it as a VST within live.

What is even weirder, cc11 seems to switch the record button (at the top in the transport bar) on and off. I've checked and it doesn't appear as midi assigned, though.

What do I have to do so I can use the expression pedal for kontakt within live 6.0.3. (windows)?

Meanwhile, I figured it out on my own, had it automapped to a controller. (just in case someone having similar issues sees this thread)
