popping on disk render

Post by tobybaxley » Fri Feb 09, 2007 6:32 pm

I am new to this forum. I am laying down some vocals for a friend's demo. The vocals sound great on playback, but when they are rendered to disk, they sound terrible with pops, clicks and such. Here's my setup:

Dell Dimension 8500
2.6ghz P4
1gb RAM
plenty of disk space
M-Audio Delta 44

I recently un-installed a SB Audigy 2 card and replaced it with the Delta. Two SB audio devices is still showing up in my preferences though. Could that have anything to do with it.

Thanks for your help!
Toby

try going into settings, audio, and setting your device type to No Audio, then rendering. I never did figure out why that helped, but in my case it always worked.

Since moving to a Mac and a MOTU (from windows and m-audio) it's not been a problem for me.

Was having the exact same problem. Wow, as counter intuitive as that suggestion is, it actually works, thanks!
