are there any more volunteers or should we carry on?
We should go on with the arrangement.
laurence wrote:I think perhaps some sort of melody/countermelody is needed (although running the risk of making it less minimal).
Depends on what you call a melody. Within minimal tracks it can be
just a couple of clicks. We should sort out which of the tracks is strong
enough to make it a "main" voice.

what we thinking guys..?
I am a very slow arranger, it would take at least two weeks for me doing that,
lots of things need to be done every day before I can turn on my DAW.
Maybe anyone wants to try that live music network thingy with me?
8 Bucks per month are OK for me.

Point taken, but to be honest we're in no rush, this is just a bit of fun- an experiment, i would be interested in doing the netwerk but my internet conection in halls is appalling, i cant even watch youtube.

Im not really sure what the best way to do this iss...

...spiral & m:0 - what do you think... can any of you get on this netwerk?
For me the best way is to go lone ranger on the arranging- not nessicarily out of preference though...

What do the rest think... :?

I think the speed of my net here isn't proper enough for this Network
software (in terms of latency and workflow). I'm also a bit busy for the
next half week, but then i've got plenty of time - also for this track.

So, everybody comes up with an own arangement?
Gives the Collab. thing a new turn, but probably an efficient and interesting
one. For me, it's ok!

Another Idea would be that everybody makes a certain part (intro,main,break.etc...) into one .als file.

mmhhhh....

which way do you prefer :?:

So I guess the best way is we go on collecting ideas.
Anybody does an arrangement. Nothing too perfect maybe.
Just work out some variations and FX. Brainstorming for about a week or so.
Then we load anything up, compare, analyze and _one_ puts together the whole thing. How about this?

The live network thing is basically two people working on live at the same time-via webcam and some program- check the link on page 1.-great idea- but not really usable with time differences and bandwidths on this occasion.

Im up for going away, arranging then comparing in a couple of weeks- im also up for getting someone else involved, but to be honest i think we should all have a go at it first.

"too many cooks spoil the broth"... as it were, anyway, everyone have fun- if we have new samples/ideas cooked up-send em up via this thread.
Remember- no rush at all, dosnt matter if arranging takes 2 weeks or 4; this is an experiment. Although i do think we send the track/s to some record labels and if all works out- create some more musical masterpieces- hell! we may even meet in real life sometime!

On a seperate but related point, i just had the wardens come round cos i was showing the work 'thus far' to my flatmates- that bass just seems to carry through walls n walls!- but it is 4.30am here!

All up for it?

Shout out if not...

take it easy guys- by the way- what are your real names?
im laurence- nice to meet you! :D

yeah I'm happy to have a go at arranging it and then putting some ideas forward in a few weeks time, i have put a post in the general thread directing people here so might get someone up for it..

i dont think the live network thing will work with the timezones and its nothing that cant be acheieved by using skype/msn/aim etc if we need that

Just working on the arrangement and facing a problem.
The clips do not start quantized. What´s the reason for this behaviour?

not quite sure, i faced this with the beats especially- if you use the revert offset button it should sort it out

if not- nudge!

oh and watch the samples as they arnt all globally quantised

Did I mention I´m a slow arranger? At the moment I´m doing some
variations with glitch type stuff. Far from arranging...
