well, just ugraded firmware 1.1 of MOTU Ultralite = :(

ok, i think there's something wrong, still and this is the firewire problem.

SFFIRE card is not starting up when bus powered from FW. blinking, software does not see the interface. when i plug external 12V power adapter - it works fine! also when i disconnect 12 V PA it still work fine!

but when i shut down mac book - card blinking, not stand up.

i have connected Saffire to my old G5 and all is fine when bus powered.

so the conclussion is: maybe Ultralite has been broken because of the FW voltage failure? and when i did firmware upgrading process (when bus powered) something has happened?

do you think my fwire bus is broken?

(i have also checked the second fw800 port and the same think happens - card is not working)

There were some posts on the Apple Support forums I think it was, about the newer Macs not being able to bus power some audio devices. I thought it was limited to the 17" though. either way, if you use the soundcard's power supply and it works, you know whyat the culprit is.

too bad I did not see this post before..

there was nothing wrong with the hardware..

the 1.1 firmware had a bug.. I was experiencing that as well..

I contacted motu support, they sent me the 1.0 driver to downgrade again..

The 1.15 upgrade fixed the 1.1 bug..

too bad you returned it..
did you even contact MOTU support?..
would have solved your problem..
