using Battery 3 VST

Anybody know of a good tutorial??

I know to open a midi track and drag the vst onto it, but from there, I'm lost...

Havent had trouble with other VSTs...

can I make the drum loop using Live's piano interface and apply Battery sounds? I dont understand the cell structure of the battery interface...

any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Battery is essentially a bunch of cells just like in Impulse. The midi notes do not line up the same way in Battery as impulse though. Battery can also have midi notes assigned so that you can customize it to make the notes you want trigger the cells that you want.

Here is something to get you started. Open battery and load a drumset or drop samples in each cell. Now make a blank clip in Live on the same track that you loaded battery on. Now go to the clip view and click on the little headphone icon so you can hear the notes when you click on the keys in the piano roll. This will reveal what cells are being triggered.

There should be 8 tutorials that came with your Battery 3 installation CD's. If they weren't on your CD you can log into your NI account go to support/ update manager, there should be the tutorials for download.

These should give you a good understanding on how the program works.

Thanks for the help guys...I figured it out...its all about the LEARN button in the CELL tab.
