the keyboard is fine, but stay off the toshibas right now for firewire or pcmcia audio, until they have fixed this glitch problem. You just don't know that the model you get might not work (like mine).intothedawn wrote:hi, im thinking of getting the a100, but i'm wondering if i should now. this is the model i'm looking at

i hate to say this but don't do it.
toshiba have admitted that many of the a100s have a fault which causes firewire/pcmcia data glitches when the fan starts and stops. it's less noticeable on the ones with ati graphics, but that's only because the fan is on more continuously.
hopefully they will be refunding me as a result of this. it is a shame as they had such a good reputation for audio before.
i'm thinking of an ibm thinkpad z61m now, but not before i've found someone who successfully uses it for firewire audio.
