i wanna kindly ask you pro-users to give me some hints for my setup, because i am seriously thinking about running LIVE on my laptop and i wanted to know about your experiences with using the sequenzer. i am running a sony vaio pIII 750 ... 256MB with no audiointerface and no midicontroller yet. here is the question. first, is this laptop these days good enough to handle LIVE 1.5 in a stabil way? what audiointerface to you recommend and what midicontroller would be the best (i think some doepfer pocket stuff?!)

welcome. your machine should be just fine. i'm running Live on a 550mhz PowerBook, which is a real slug, and I get by pretty well. Live runs much better on Windows than Mac also. Add some RAM to your machine if you feel the need and it should keep you busy for a while. As for an audio interface you basically have 3 choices FireWire, USB, or PCMCIA slot. Choose based on your needs and budget. I use an emagic emi 2|6 USB and I love it, at times. Scour the forum and see what will work best with your setup. There are plenty of Vaio owners here. For a MIDI controller I recommend the Midiman line of USB keyboards. They have worked great for me.
