Hello,
I emailed the Ableton tech about this and they were not helpful, so I'm hoping I can get some help from you fine knowledgeable people.
Here's the problem:
I want to record an acoustic guitar song. I use an M-Audio interface that I plug my mic into, and play a song on my guitar. It records in an audio track on Ableton. Next, I'd like to playback this track and sing to the guitar, but I can't. I configure my second audio track to M-Audio and the first one, the one with the guitar that I need to hear played back, shuts off and configured to M-Audio, too. Why can't I keep one playing and the other track accepting my M-Audio inputs. I've messed around with it endlessly and can't figure it out. Is this impossible? It seems like such a basic idea that Live should be able to do it. But how?
I've rendered the instrumental part to a .wav and played it off windows media player, which worked once, but now when i try it media player eventually quits playing any audio because everything is trying to go through that damn interface.
Any help would be wonderful. I miss being able to make my music!

How do I configure tracks to playback while recording with..
Hi
I am new to Live and DAW in general. I want to do the same sort of recording while playing back that you do but I am not as far along as you are. Check the 2nd to last question in the FAQ at http://www.ableton.com/pages/faq/audio
Please let us know if this solves the problem.
