operator: fixed frequency with osc<vel dont work?

Post by justin » Sat Feb 17, 2007 4:24 pm

i think i just discovered a potential bug in operator, or maybe it's a feature request...

whilst using the noise oscillator waveform on osc A, i wanted to make the velocity effect the pitch whilst having the frequency locked on fixed (rather than tracking keyboard input). so i set the osc<vel to 100% but it has no effect on the pitch?

seems it only works when the oscillator is not fixed? surely it shouldnt matter if its fixed or not. the parameter should be controlled by the amount of osc<vel.

the problem seems to occur with all waveforms, not just noise.

I know it doesn't work with the fixed oscillator, afaik it has always been that way.

Vel>Osc is basically controlling the "coarse" with velocity. When you are using a fixed oscillator, there is no coarse parameter to be affected.

i guess it should be a feature request then, and it should be easy to implement and adds to the sonic possibilities of the operator...

thanks for looking into this!
