Hmmm. Not sure it sounded tribal to me. More like what the kids call "breaks".
I used a Sitar sound to play the lead guitar part for a cover of the Rolling Stone's "Paint it Black" back in the 80s. Well my band didn't have a guitarist. Sounded so cool in 8 bit glory coming out of my Ensoniq Mirage. Haven't used a Sitar sound since.
