NON-USED referenced sample missing ?????

Post by supamonsta » Tue Feb 20, 2007 7:45 pm

Hi, just a little problem that still stays unsolvable for me:

there's a "missing referenced file" in my live set. I Know because I deleted this record sample, and it is NOT used in my set. No clip uses it, I don't need it, I don't understand why Live hangs on it...

where can it be referenced?

Live, please, give it up!!

thanks for helping me,
and sorry for my english I'm french

cheers

Bonjour,

Quelle version de Live utilisez-vous? Est-ce que ce fichier etait un fichier enregistre? Etes-vous certain qu'il n'est pas utilise dans un clip qui serait dans l'arragement, comme 'cache'?

---------------------------------------

What is your Live version? Was the file a recorded file? Can you make sure the file is not used in a clip that would reside in the Arrangement, somehow 'hidden' fro your sight?

best,
Amaury

Hi, thanks for answering so quickly.

I use live 6.0.5 (recently upgraded, but the problem was there in 6.0)
The live set was created in live 5, and renamed in live 6. It still uses the same set sounds directory.

There is No other switch/upgrade bug, my set is full and operative in live 6.

This sample was a 6 min record from external input, and I deleted its clip from arrangement and session screens, and did not remove unreferenced samples when quitting live. After saving it under another name I deleted it from 'my live set sounds' directory.

I have done this process several times, and this "bug" only appears for this file.

IS A CLIP CAPABLE OF BEING HIDDEN??
where samples are referenced?

This problem isn't really dramatic, my set is fully viable, but it always mention "referenced file missing"...

thanks for helping,

cheers

Hi,

No, by Hidden, I meant 'out of sight', like you would have forgotten a clip refering to the file. By the way, didn't you save a 'Live clip' in the project folder referring to the file?

Can you try daving the set as a new project, so somewhere else on the computer, and 'collect and save' it? And tell me if it still references a missing file?
